Wilmington Tennis Ladder

The Tennis Ladder is a great way to improve your match play, meet new players, and strengthen friendships. It is open to any player who has match experience. Organized in May, the Ladder runs for six weeks during June and July with semifinal and final matches played in early August. A makeup week is scheduled between the last week and the semifinals / finals to accommodate vacations and inclement weather.

Each player must play at least two matches per week. Additional matches played will count towards the ladder, so long as the players are no more than two rungs apart. Two out of three sets, ad scoring, with a 12-point tiebreaker (first to seven by two) at 6-6. If players split sets, they can opt to play a full third set, or a 10-point tiebreaker (first to 10 by two). A player's movement up or down the Ladder depends on his or her match results.

Each player brings a can of balls. The winner keeps the unopened can.

The top four players make the semifinals. Semifinals and finals will be played in early August.
